Van & LCV Shock Absorbers

A van’s shock absorbers play a crucial role in stability, braking efficiency, and overall driving comfort. When they begin to wear, handling becomes unpredictable, stopping distances increase, and tyre wear accelerates.

At Lushington Commercial Vehicles in Westham, Pevensey, we provide professional shock absorber inspections, repairs, and replacements for vans manufactured by Ford, Peugeot, Citroen, Renault, Vauxhall, Mercedes-Benz, and VW.  We also work on hybrid and electric vans, with IMI Level 4–qualified technicians ensuring safe, compliant servicing.

Signs Your Shock Absorbers Need Attention

Common symptoms of worn or faulty shocks include:

• excessive bouncing after hitting bumps
• longer braking distances, and reduced stability
• uneven or accelerated tyre wear
• clunking or knocking noises over rough roads
• loose, drifting, or “floaty” feeling while driving

If you notice any of these issues, it’s important to have your van inspected promptly.  Compromised shocks can affect braking, steering control, and overall safety – especially when carrying loads.
